Why I surf the web: Moving Brands

Websites like Moving Brands’ is pretty much the reason why I surf the web for hours a day. They really show what goes on backstage in the creation of big brands. Check out their website movingbrands.com and click “full programme” in the “work” section. They only have 3 brands up at the time, but I’m really hoping for more in-depth insight in the future.

Resurrecting the Republican Party

Newsweek asked four nonpartisan design firms to rebrand the Republican Party for an exercise in a special end-of-year issue. Too little, too late? Naah, It’s all good fun. Newsweek said “It’s down, it’s out, and it’s core voters are getting old”. So, needless to say, the goal here was to rebound from the recent loss and to attract younger voters.

Arla Foods indecisive?

Arla Foods, or just Arla, (a Scandinavian dairy company represented worldwide) are pretty much making a 180 degree turn on their visual identity. They say the new logo will represent how Arla is getting “Closer to Nature”. They wish to further develop the fact that they are a “Natural” company and that all their products are based on dairy. They will do this by examining the making of the products in order to get rid of unnatural raw material and making sure that the products are produced with as little effect as possible on the environment.

Rebranding: Parad

Moscow-based Bureau Proekt has had Parad as a client for a while now, and recently it was time for a rebranding. After dropping the entire male product line Parad wanted to focus more on their female audience. “The logo is designed as the woman lips—the source of passion and wisdom.”

Travel in style with Assmann Reisen

When riding my bike home from work I came across this very eye-catching bus. It came all the way from Germany and it turned out to be Assmann Reisen making a pit stop in my little town. Needless to say (it says on the bus) these people were traveling in first class!
